Aspen

There is a side of Snowmass Village that has little to do with skiing and everything to do with creativity. Tucked into the Rocky Mountains about 15 minutes from Aspen, Anderson Ranch Arts Center has been part of the cultural landscape of Snowmass since 1966, bringing together artists, students, instructors and visitors in an environment where art is not simply displayed but actively created. Its five-acre campus includes 14 ranch buildings, studios, exhibition spaces and outdoor sculpture, creating a setting where the surrounding mountains become part of the experience.

Every winter, Aspen becomes one of the most important destinations on the action-sports calendar when X Games Aspen brings some of the world’s best skiers and snowboarders to Buttermilk Mountain. For several days, the mountain becomes a stage for athletes pushing the limits of freestyle skiing and snowboarding, while the surrounding area takes on the atmosphere of a major winter festival.
