Slightly Stoopid – 2 Day Pass at Red Rocks Amphitheatre
This summer, Slightly Stoopid makes their phenomenal return to the Red Rocks Amphitheater! The American reggae-punk fusion outfit will deliver a two-night spectacle at the iconic outdoor concert venue in Morrison, Colorado! These much-awaited shows on Saturday, August 12, and Sunday, August 13, 2023 will deliver the band’s massive hits and crowd favorites, as well as feature a number of support acts that will amp up the crowd before the main act! Slightly Stoopid is an eclectic rock band known for infusing rock, folk, and reggae with hints of blues, hip-hop, funk, and metal. The band emerged in 1994 from San Diego, California, after members Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald were discovered by Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell. Doughty and Mcdonald’s band were signed to Nowell’s record label, Skunk Records, and together they released their debut album, Slightly $toopid, in 1996.
In 2001, the band released their debut live album, Acoustic Roots: Live & Direct. The record contained tracks from the band’s live performance at San Diego’s 91x radio station. After four years, the band released their breakthrough album, Closer to the Sun. The record topped Billboard’s Heatseeker and was their first effort to enter the Billboard 200. By 2007, Slightly Stoopid has soared through the charts with their fifth studio album, Chronchitis. The record peaked at number 55 o the Billboard 200 and number 2 on the Independent Albums chart.
Some of the band’s most notable singles include “Closer to the Sun,” “Collie Man,” and “2 am.” in 2019, they performed in Stick Figure’s track “World on Fire.” Last year, they released a follow-up collaboration single, “Way of Life.”
